Eyebulge Diggs jobs

Today is the day of the social bookmark, and since Digg is one of the most popular social bookmarking sites there’s no wonder why our friends at Recruiting.com adpoted a digg-like format last September.

Social booking allows people to vote on their web favorites, much like recruiting.com does with favorite blog posts. Might social bookmarking work in the world of jobs?

Enter Eyebulge. “At Eyebulge, you determine the relevance. The Eyebulge community “bulges” jobs they think are good, and that helps differentiate the great jobs from the average. Your keyword query will still help produce applicable hits, but the results will be sorted according the number of bulges each job has.” - Greg Martin

Relevance is in the Eye of the beholder, and now job relevance can be in the eye of the job seeker.

If everyone is thinks breathing is good, should I therefore think holding my breath is smarter?

Finding a job is a competitive exercise, not one you share (with potential adversaries). Rating a job therefore seems to be a very strange exercise. In addition, a job is out there for a limited period of time, so it is also a rather pointless exercise.

Rating jobs is neither a social nor a very sensible exercise

How about using a plastic bag and zip tie, you always want to do the job right. Strange exercise indeed.

Regarding competition, Eyebulge is the only site which allows you to post this comment next to a job specific job posting:

“I think this job is awesome and I hope the hiring manager reads this because I would really like an interview.”

Yes, Job search is a competition. And Eyebulge is an effective tool in that regard. And its not about commenting or rating every single job. Its about having the option to speak your mind….which is something that is not offered anywhere else on the net today!
