Today’s bit of Friday morning humor focuses on two characters in the online recruiting industry. Personally, I think it’s interesting how people view characters in our industry; some as heroes, some as villains, but we all play some type of role somewhere. Like Animal, who I see playing the “Creepy Uncle” role, you know the one who always wanted you to sit on his lap. Anyways, I wanted to briefly highlight a couple of characters I’d like to call:

The Dynamic Duo… Joel Cheesman and Jason Goldberg…

No question this is an odd pairing, but stick with me for a second.

Let’s start with Jason Goldberg (a.k.a. JGo). JGo receives a large amount of flak due to his cocky style, abrasive presentation, and for saying pretty much what everyone else is thinking. I’m sure you believe he should be listed as a villain, but to be fair, I personally don’t know of another individual who has bounced around the Nation preaching the words of progress and web 2.0 more than this guy. So what if he likes to flaunt his high Prada fashion and mad Crackberry skills, the guy has forced new and progressive thinking down the throats of a much needed and slow-moving industry. I give kudos to the Boy-wonder!

Then we have the Yin to JGo’s Yang; wait a minute that didn’t sound right, Joel Cheesman (a.k.a. Cheezhead). Joel has become strangely linked to the Boy-wonder through famous blog banter, on-stage Onrec antics, and my personal favorite, acting as JGo’s unofficial Public Relations manager. Unofficial what? Cheezhead provides more free awareness and consult to Jobster than any other site I know. Remember the only bad PR is no PR (or back links), and good, bad, or ugly Cheezhead has provided Jobster PR and/or public consult on several occasions. Cheezhead just added a Jobster category, since the topic is of importance, and I hear rumblings of JGo as guest writer for Cheezhead Xtra.

Now isn’t it hard to picture one without the other?
